Carbon Audits

Carbon Audits

Climate change is caused by the increase in concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs)
such as carbon dioxide (CO2 ), methane (CH4 ) and nitrous oxide (N2O) in the atmosphere.
These increases are largely due to GHG emissions resulting from human activities such
as the use of fossil fuels or agriculture. This changing climate has impacts on the
environment, human health and the economy.

Similar to an ASHRAE Energy audit, a carbon audit is conducted to determine where,
how and when carbon is being emitted in a facility followed by identifying opportunities
that may be used to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHGs) emissions. A carbon audit from our
firm includes putting together emission inventories; identifying reduction opportunities;
setting up a GHG emissions management program, reporting on carbon emissions in
compliance with international standards and completing the emissions verification process.
